
Become Less Accessible To Protect Your Energy
I’m sure we can all recall returning home after some event with friends or family and feeling absolutely drained. Sometimes, it’s because of a jam-packed schedule, lack of sleep or maybe indulging a bit too much. But there are moments when we come back and maybe think: ‘Wow, that event has drained me. Time for a bubble bath.’ That type of exhaustion may not be physical but rather energetic.
So what do I mean by ‘energy’? In simple terms, when we feel different emotions, we emit different vibrations which can subconsciously influence others. Have you ever met someone that seemed perfectly normal but gave off a ‘bad vibe’? That’s their energy. So when we are laughing and spending time with the people we love, the energy levels we emit are high and attractive, compared to when we feel depressed or angry. Therefore, finding ways to emit the highest vibrational energy and protecting it is essential for your well-being. It is also possible to exchange energy with someone. Even just brief moments can cause an energy exchange and, of course, deeper relationships amplify this.
In this article, I am going to dive into our energy and how we can protect it, as well as how to spot and steer away from situations/people who steal sparkle by forcing their negative energy on to us.
What Do You Do In Your Spare Time?
Of course, our full time jobs or education may not bring us the most joy and happiness as both are considered a stressful environment. Therefore, think about where, what, who and when you feel your happiest and chase those moments in your free time. Personally, walking in nature or baking with my sister are both two things I really enjoy so I make sure I devote my time to this. Identify the things you enjoy and dedicate time to them.
Trust Your Gut!
We are all familiar with the gut feeling in our stomach when something isn’t right: intuition. If you are in a situation or spending time with a person and you begin to feel as though you don’t belong, trust yourself and walk away. Nobody knows you better than you! Believe that being around the right people would not give you that sort of physical reaction. It is essential that you understand when it is time to leave in order to prevent others energy affecting you.
Becoming Inaccessible
You are a valuable possession so why are you giving yourself away to people who don’t deserve you? Stop giving those who take you for granted your time and energy and devote that to people who build you up instead of drag you down. If you keep letting people take from you, you’ll have nothing left for yourself or for others who will be grateful for your efforts. Commit your energy where it will be made higher.
Become Healthily Selfish
Like I have stated many times, you are number one! Not me, not Rihanna, not your boyfriend: YOU! Make sure that you are always feeling your most ready and capable of handling people’s problems without letting it affect your wellbeing. If you are not in a good state of mind, you cannot fully help the person who has come to you for advice. As well as that, if you are not mentally ready to take on somebody’s problem and that energy is displaced on to you, both of you will be dragged down to a low vibrational level, and that doesn’t help anyone! Therefore, make sure you are secure in yourself and your energy before exchanging it.
Additionally, it is key to remember that you cannot help/change someone if they are not willing to change. If someone does not see a problem with their behavior, then no matter how hard you try, they will not change. Don’t pour your energy into an empty cup!
Call Your Energy Back To You
I watched a video by The Wizard Liz where she dives into protecting your energy. One of the ways she does this is by calling her energy back to her every night or when she feels as though it has been corrupted. She states ‘I call back all my power from all places, situations and people that have that have been stealing it without my consent now. And I give back any power and energy that is not mine to carry’. Doing this will help release any energy that was not yours in the first place and help you regain your higher vibration.
Nature & Natural
Look after yourself physically by being more mindful of what you eat and how you spend your time. Taking time to connect with nature and get some fresh air really helps with positive energy. And of course, you look the best when you feel the best, therefore taking care of your body is a form of self-care which will help you reach those higher vibrational levels.
This week, take the time to notice your energy shifts. When do you feel the most fulfilled? When do you feel worn out or tied down? Have you taken some time to yourself? Challenge yourself to become less accessible—don’t ignore your loved ones, but take time to respond to messages or gracefully decline plans you’re not excited about. Prioritize your well-being, and watch your energy sparkle!
